For Kenzie's 12th birthday we wanted to do something really cool and take her to New York! We did it! We surprised her and flew to NY Saturday night very late and arrived at like 5 in the morning Sunday..we caught the subway and went right in to Times Square...we had so much fun. She has been such a wonderful helper since the twins were born, she babysits, she cleans she is just a trooper and we wanted to reward her. It worked out great because Shad had to go for work so they paid the hotel and all of his food and subway etc...On Sunday we toured all the sights and then Monday he worked and she and I rode the Long Island Railroad into Penn Station. We walked from there to Rockefeller Center and were on the Today show! Then we spent the rest of the day shopping until he met us that night back in times Square..we walked allllll day long! And it was freezing..we had no coats. We bought scarfs by ground zero on Sunday night but that was it. Her actual birthday is on the 21st which is too close to Thanksgiving to go so we went early. I think she loved it. It was my first time as well and I did! Pictures can be viewed here...ENJOY!
Lots of memories..the one store she really wanted to go to was actually in Long Island, a store called Ruehl..it is in the style of Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch. We went today and she was thrilled to be there...I guess she does care about name brands..she wanted to be the first to have this up and coming new brand..LOL She and I flew back this afternoon and Dad is staying until Friday.
