Table

So after 10 years of using our 150.00 table and chair set it has finally become absolutely neccesary to replace it. It cost around 150, maybe 200 for the pine table with a butterfly leaf and 4 chairs finished in oak. First the rungs started breaking out of the back of the chairs, next the bottom cross bars. We glued them, my Dad glued them, then most of them finally bit it. We have 2 left, one is fully intact but very rickety, the other has 2 rungs in the back left. So last year we bought 4 new 30.00 chairs from Target(they were not the same color as the table). Almost immediately 2 broke, then one more..we took them back and began using the others and a couple green folding chairs. As you can see from the photo at left one of them has a broken support bar that is currently scraping on the floor and only Paige can sit on it so it doesn't completely break. The twins have been in highchairs but they do not want to sit in them anymore and they throw fits about it at every meal. They do not fit at the table even if we did have chairs for them, which we don't..LOL Anyway...I am getting a new table and I am very excited about it. I love it and we got a smokin deal on it! I am a negotiator, we went to 4 different stores and bargained with each before agreeing to a great price at a smaller store! I am so happy and I love what we picked out. I can't wait to have a table we can all eat dinner at together! We will get rid of the last baby things from our main living area! The last to go will be the cribs....So this is what we are getting....we are getting the longest rectangle top with a black/chestnut finish, 8 ladderback chairs(no upholstery). The longest rectangle top with standard turned legs. 8 chairs! We had to do some serious hunting to find an informal dining set that seats 8 and was not nasty..LOL anyway...I am just so excited to have sturdy chairs, that match and be able to sit together for meals. That is just so important. Getting rid of the high chairs is a bonus too! We are going to paint the kitchen a barn red and paint the crown molding on the cabinets black. We will change out the handles on the cabinets to a black rubbed finish..I think it will look so nice when we are done with it. Well...I hope...Anyway...wanted to share! :D We doo not have very much brand new furniture in the house. We got a new couch last year but other than that pretty much everything is pre-owned so I am just so thrilled. We need it so badly.
