Last night we had the opportunity to take the girls to their first, Salt Lake Bee's Baseball Game. The event was a Radio promotion more or less of the Parker show. On his afternoon show every day he has a segment he calls, Parker's Lil Peeps. You can email him your kids birthday's and he will read their names over the air and Smart Cookie provides each child with a free cookie ice cream sandwich. Kinda fun for the kids. All week he gave away family four packs to the game on the air. He had a section at the ballpark and all the kids got T-shirts that said Parker's Lil Peeps. The adults got 101.9 The End T-shirts as well. During the game they gave him the microphone and put the camera on the section and we all sang Take Me Out To the Ballgame. The girls loved it and Shad and I had a good time too. We debated on driving downtown or riding TRAX. The girls voted for TRAX. That was half the fun! It was just a really a fun night all the way around. The girls watched a little bit of the game but mostly messed around the aisles. They got to meet some new friends, Allison and Haley. Parker's adorable daughters that are 5 and 3. They got to meet the mascot, Bumble the Bee. This was a BIG highlight. He kind of wandered around the stadium. Becca, Jillian and Paige caught sight of him early and a lot of the game was spent asking why wasn't he coming to see them and when would he be coming to see them. There was some concern early on that we would get rained out but other than some uncharacteristic humidity and a few scattered drops there was no rain! We are grateful we got to be a part of the fun! Kenzie and Celia were kind of interested in the game but with all that was going on they got distracted. If you know me, you know I cannot sit still for very long and I got up and moved around. There were countless trips to the restrooms made by pretty much all the girls. I took them and then the older girls began taking them. They begged for food but we had brought our own so we purchased one drink, peanuts (I guess you have to do that at a ballgame) and an exceedingly overpriced Dippin' Dots Ice Cream cup that they all shared and fought over. At one point during the game they were completely mobbing me for this little cup of ice cream. What a memorable way to end our summer! After we got home and started looking at pictures we realized that Shad had taken all the pictures and he isn't in any of them! we promise he was there. I feel bad he didn't even get in one though!
