The Safest Ladder

So I was running at the machine yesterday at the gym and apparently kind of empty headed so I began thinking of various things. I was remembering how a few years ago...back when we were still living in Taylorsville Shad and I were being lazy in bed on a Saturday morning and the girls were watching Saturday morning cartoons. Emma appeared in our room and woke her Dad up and handed him a paper with a 1800number written on it, "Dad, Dad....here: I wrote this down for you, this phone number. I saw a commercial and this is the safest ladder so you should call and get it so you can be safe." She was so funny about it and so sure that he really needed this ladder. Marketing at work. It always works on our Emma. Mnay times she has told us about products she sees on TV toting the tag lines used to promote them. I think she may have even said once or twice, "It makes a great gift!" We love our Emma for her care and concern for others. She wants everyone to choose right and do thinsg the way she thinks they should. Logic is very important to her. Oh, and Shad still doesn't have the ladder! Dang, hope he will be safe anyway!

You have to love a child that is so worried about your safety. Of course the advertisers are also in love with her!

By the way logic is a good thing and trying to do what is right is even better. You might want to remind her that forcing others to choose the right isn't part of the plan. That is what the other guy wanted and he lost.
