There is a candy factory here in Utah that makes several wonderful things but the best things they make are: cinnamon bears, swedish fish, Orange/raspberry/cherry sticks and salt water taffy. This summer has been pretty darn fun and full of fun activities! I had to raise the bar a bit from the past four summers (twin terror avoidance) and I have to say we have done it for not a ton of cash. Here is a breakdown; bowling(free for everyone but the twins through a school program) swimming(we paid full price for it), Living Planet Aquarium (we had season passes we purchased in February), Concert/Picnic at Sugarhouse Park (kindly presented by 101.9 The End for nada), Oh..and the radio station itself, Parker letting us bug him in his place of work. :) Kenzie says being in that studio and getting to see all of that was the highlight of her summer. She loves music and we raised her that way because we LOVE music as well...all kinds. She has great taste and it has been a funny joke for quite a few years now that this particular radio station is hers. KENZ being the call letters...she took ownership years ago and it has been a little ongoing fun for her. And now we have the opportunity to take the girls to their very first, Salt Lake Bee's, baseball game tomorrow evening. And today (we are now back to the candy factory) we went for a free tour at the candy factory. The girls were really interested but sadly it was late in the day and their wasn't much actual candy making going on. It was mostly videos but they did get to see everything and smell it, and taste test! They want to go back next week so they can see actual candy making. We are going to try earlier in the day next time and have scheduled a tour with an old friend of mine from Michigan who I have not seen in years. I think it will be very fun! But the girls had fun today and loved the candy...they are kids after all. I think our summer has more than made up for the past 4 yucky ones. The summer is drawing to an end. Kenzie has girls camp all next week. Emma's birthday always seems to signal the end of the summer. This summer she has her baptism to look forward to and she is excited about that. Emma has another wonderful theme party in the works...I think she feels the need to top last years Rockstar extravaganza...I fear we will not be able to do that but I guess we will give it a go!
